Learn Punjabi typing for PSSSB — from home row to exam speed
Never typed in Gurmukhi before? Start on the home row (A S D F J K L ;) and add one row at a time — the Punjabi typing course walks through every key before it asks for speed. The part that trips up most beginners is matra order: ਿ is typed after its consonant even though it lands to the left on screen, and ੱ addak and ੰ tippi have no Hindi equivalent. Candidates practising 30 minutes a day typically reach the 30 WPM PSSSB clerk typing standard in six to eight weeks.
Practice the real PSSSB Raavi typing test interface
The practice session mirrors the exam rather than approximating it: the Raavi INSCRIPT keyboard, the chunk-by-chunk passage flow PSSSB uses, and live Net WPM and accuracy while you type instead of a score revealed at the end. Run a full 10-minute attempt when you want a realistic checkpoint, or shorter learn Punjabi typing drills when you are still building key coverage.
Punjabi typing test speed & accuracy requirements
PSSSB asks for 30 WPM at a minimum 92% accuracy, and the typing test is qualifying — you must clear it to stay in the running, but it does not add to your merit score. Accuracy is the harder half: 92% leaves room for roughly eight errors per hundred words, so Gurmukhi typing practice that trains clean keystrokes beats chasing raw speed. Punjabi and English typing are cleared separately, so budget time for both.
Punjabi INSCRIPT follows the same core logic as Hindi INSCRIPT — matras are typed after consonants, ਿ appears on the left automatically. The unique Punjabi elements are ੱ addak (doubles next consonant) and ੰ tippi (nasal mark).

Worked Example
Target characters (1500 min)1,500+
Wrong words8
Error characters (8 × 5)40
Net characters (1620 − 40)1,580
Gross WPM (1620 ÷ 5 ÷ 10)32 WPM
