PSSSB Punjabi typing test rules you must know
ਗਲਤੀਆਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸਪੀਡ ਨਹੀਂ ਘਟਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ
ਸਪੀਡ ਹਰ ਟਾਈਪ ਕੀਤੇ ਅੱਖਰ ਤੋਂ ਗਿਣੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਗਲਤੀਆਂ ਸਿਰਫ਼ accuracy ਘਟਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
10 ਮਿੰਟ ਵਿੱਚ 1,500 ਅੱਖਰ ਟਾਈਪ ਕਰੋ
ਇਹੀ 30 WPM ਹੈ। PSSSB 5 ਅੱਖਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਮੰਨਦਾ ਹੈ, spaces ਅਤੇ ਵਿਸਰਾਮ ਚਿੰਨ੍ਹ ਸਮੇਤ।

ਦਸ਼ਮਲਵ ਕੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਵਧਾਇਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ। 1,550 ਅੱਖਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਟੀਚਾ ਰੱਖੋ।

45 WPM ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਵੀ। ਅਤੇ 91% ਤੇ ਸਪੀਡ ਠੀਕ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਫ਼ੇਲ੍ਹ। ਦੋਵੇਂ ਸ਼ਰਤਾਂ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹਨ।
ਮਾਤਰਾ ਛੁੱਟੀ ਤਾਂ ਪੂਰਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਗਲਤ
ਲਗਾਂ-ਮਾਤਰਾਂ ਜਾਂ ਅੱਧੇ ਅੱਖਰ ਸਹੀ ਥਾਂ ਨਾ ਹੋਣ, ਜਾਂ ਵਾਧੂ ਅੱਖਰ ਪੈ ਜਾਣ — ਤਾਂ ਪੂਰਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਗਲਤ ਗਿਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਲਈ ਹੈ।
ਸਵਰ ਇੱਕੋ key ਨਾਲ ਟਾਈਪ ਕਰੋ
ਆ = Shift + E। ਇਸਨੂੰ ਅ ਅਤੇ ਾ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਟਾਈਪ ਕਰਨਾ ਗਲਤ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਸਕਰੀਨ ਤੇ ਇੱਕੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਦਿਖੇ।
ਗਲਤ ਜਾਂ ਛੁੱਟਿਆ ਸ਼ਬਦ = 5 ਅੱਖਰ
ਇਹ ਪੂਰੀ ਗਲਤੀ ਹੈ। ਔਖਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਛੱਡਣ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਹੌਲੀ ਟਾਈਪ ਕਰਨਾ ਸਸਤਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗਲਤ space = 2.5 ਅੱਖਰ
ਇਹ ਅੱਧੀ ਗਲਤੀ ਹੈ। ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ space ਨਾ ਹੋਣਾ, ਵਾਧੂ space, ਜਾਂ ਕਾਮੇ ਕੋਲ ਗਲਤ space।

Pass = Gross speed ≥ 30 AND Accuracy ≥ 92%

Learn Punjabi typing for PSSSB — from home row to exam speed
The PSSSB Punjabi typing test is not a test of finger speed. It is a test of whether you can produce roughly 1,500 clean Gurmukhi characters in ten minutes without dropping below 92% accuracy, and the Punjabi paper punishes carelessness harder than the English one. An omitted lagamatra or half character does not cost you a fraction of a word — it makes the complete word wrong. That single rule is why candidates with respectable speed still fail.
Start on the home row (A S D F, J K L and semicolon) with both index fingers on the F and J bumps, and add one keyboard row at a time rather than trying to memorise the whole Raavi INSCRIPT layout at once. Two concepts need to become automatic early. The first is matra order: ਿ is typed after its consonant even though it appears to the left of it on screen. The second is the vowel rule — ਆ, ਇ, ਈ, ਉ, ਊ, ਏ, ਐ, ਓ and ਔ each have their own key combination and must never be assembled from a carrier plus a matra, because a word built that way looks correct and scores as wrong.
Once every key is covered by muscle memory, move from lessons to timed ten-minute attempts in the exam format. The Punjabi typing lessons cover key coverage; the exam-style test covers pacing under the chunk rules. Candidates starting from zero typically need six to eight weeks of daily half-hour practice to reach 30 WPM, longer than the English paper takes, because the Gurmukhi character positions have to be learned from scratch. Both papers are cleared separately, so budget time for PSSSB English typing as well.
