About the exam

What makes UPSSSC typing test different from SSC

UPSSSC requires both Hindi and English — you cannot choose one. SSC CHSL lets you pick one language. UPSSSC is harder in this regard.

Box 1
Both languages mandatory — no choice
Unlike SSC CHSL where you declare either English or Hindi on the application form, UPSSSC requires you to clear both. Hindi 25 WPM and English 30 WPM — both are qualifying. Failing either fails the test.
Box 2
Only 5 minutes per language
UPSSSC typing tests are 5 minutes each — shorter than SSC's 10 minutes. This means you need consistent speed, not bursts. A single slow minute significantly impacts your final WPM.
Box 3
Limited backspace — not full text
UPSSSC allows backspace only within the current word and one previous word. You cannot freely navigate the entire typed text as in PSSSB. Accuracy from the start is critical — you cannot go back and fix errors freely.
