About the exam

Three rules that make RRB NTPC the strictest typing exam

Most candidates who fail have prepared on a standard backspace-enabled interface. These three mechanics require explicit, targeted practice.

Box 1
Backspace, Delete, and cursor keys — all disabled
No backspace, no Delete key, no Home/End/arrow keys. Once a character is typed, it stands permanently. This is confirmed in the official RRB CBTST instruction notice. Candidates who have practised with backspace enabled will find this disorienting under exam conditions — the reflex must be retrained, not suppressed.
Box 2
Can retype from the beginning
If you finish the full passage before time ends, you may restart from the beginning. Correctly typed words on the second pass count toward your total. Candidates who don't complete the passage at least once are disqualified outright. Fast typists should plan to loop through the passage twice for maximum word count.
Box 3
5% free error band — then 10-word deductions
Mistakes on up to 5% of total typed words carry no penalty. Every mistake beyond that deducts 10 words from your final count. A burst of errors in the second half of the test can collapse your effective WPM well below the qualifying threshold — accuracy in the final minutes matters most.

Everything you need to clear RRB NTPC typing test

Standard typing practice is not enough — no-backspace accuracy must be trained explicitly.

🚫
No-backspace mode simulator
Our RRB NTPC practice mode disables backspace completely — identical to the real exam interface. This is the single most important preparation habit. Candidates who practise with backspace enabled discover under exam pressure that the correction reflex is deeply wired and nearly impossible to suppress on demand.
Hindi typing — Mangal INSCRIPT
Structured Devanagari lessons from home row to full keyboard, built on Mangal INSCRIPT layout. Both Mangal and Kruti Dev are accepted at RRB exam centres. Mangal INSCRIPT is recommended for candidates starting fresh — it is the Unicode standard and works on all modern systems without legacy font installation.
📈
Weak key focus drills
Automatically identifies your most-missed keys across practice sessions and generates targeted 8-minute drills. In no-backspace mode, every accuracy gap compounds under the 5% error rule — a single weak key pattern can cost dozens of net words. Drilling them explicitly cuts errors where they matter most.
Accuracy-first speed building
30 WPM English and 25 WPM Hindi are achievable targets for any candidate. The bottleneck is accuracy under no-backspace conditions, not raw speed. Our lessons train accuracy from the first character and increase speed only once each accuracy level is stable.
