About the exam
Three things that make PSSSB typing test unique
PSSSB is the only major exam that uses a chunk-based interface, requires both Punjabi and English, and uses the Raavi Unicode font exclusively.
Box 1
Chunk-based interface — 10 blocks of ~30 words
The passage is split into 10 chunks. You see one chunk at a time and must type at least 80% before pressing Enter to advance. Page Up lets you go back. This format is unique to PSSSB among Indian government typing exams.
Box 2
Both Punjabi and English mandatory
You cannot choose one language — both are tested and both must be cleared with 30 WPM and 92% accuracy. Failing either language fails the entire test. No other major state board exam requires two completely different scripts in the same sitting.
Box 3
Raavi Unicode — not Asees, not Anmollipi
PSSSB uses Raavi Unicode with Gurmukhi INSCRIPT keyboard — the modern standard, pre-installed on all Windows systems. Legacy fonts like Asees or Anmollipi use different key mappings and are not accepted. Practising on the wrong font trains wrong muscle memory.

PSSSB Typing Test — Frequently Asked Questions
Requirements verified from official PSSSB notifications.
The PSSSB typing test divides the passage into 10 blocks of approximately 30 words called chunks. You see only the current chunk and must type at least 80% of it before pressing Enter or the Down Arrow to advance. Page Up lets you return to a previous chunk. Early submission is not allowed — use remaining time to correct earlier chunks.
